Veraltoās reported sales growth contains three different contributions. The original graphic separates core activity, portfolio changes and currency, then compares the two operating segments on the same labelled scale. A fresh genuine daily chart supplies a separate test of price acceptance. The financial baseline is the July 28 release for the quarter ended July 3; this is not an earnings announcement today.
Macro ā translation and operating activity answer different questions
A multinational business can report a different dollar growth rate even when local-currency activity follows another path. Exchange translation belongs in the comparison, but it does not measure customer demand. Acquired revenue also expands the consolidated perimeter. Separating those effects makes the demand question more precise without assuming that either contribution lacks economic value. The broad market and financing environment can change what investors pay for a business; neither establishes that its customers ordered more units.
Fundamental ā the segments carry different momentum
Veralto reported Q2 sales of $1.474 billion, up 7.6% year over year. Its reconciliation removes 2.4 percentage points from acquisitions/divestitures and 1.0 point from currency to arrive at 4.2% non-GAAP core growth. Reversing that bridge gives the stacked contributions in the graphic. Core is a supplemental comparison, not a pure unit-volume measure.
Water Quality reported 10.1% growth: 5.7% core, 3.2 points from portfolio changes and 1.2 from currency. Product Quality and Innovation reported 3.8%: 2.0% core, 1.2 portfolio and 0.6 currency. The 3.7-point core-growth gap identifies the faster segment in this period. Their different revenue bases mean a simple average cannot reproduce consolidated growth. The next comparable disclosure needs each segmentās rate and revenue base before drawing a mix conclusion.
The business research question is whether the slower segment can contribute more while the faster segment sustains its underlying pace. A constructive reading would require repeated operating evidence rather than a larger acquisition contribution alone. A cautious reading would gain weight if consolidated growth depended increasingly on perimeter changes while core activity weakened. These are tests for later reports, not forecasts extracted from one quarter. The next report could also revise the interpretation through a different mix of price, products or customer activity.
Technical ā a recovery above the average still needs acceptance
The genuine TradingView VLTO 1D chart was exported October 9 at 16:17 CT, after the U.S. regular cash close. It shows the NYSE listing via Cboe One, observed BATS:VLTO: open $96.74, high $97.53, low $95.88 and regular-session close $96.93, up 0.47%. The established 55 EMA is $95.33; RSI(14) is 54.68 in the sole lower panel. The candle legend and price scale agree. This is static regular-session evidence, not an executable after-hours quote.
The visible history shows a spring decline, a summer recovery and a September pullback before the latest bounce. Price sits above the average and RSI above its midpoint, while earlier summer highs remain overhead. That supports a local recovery description without establishing a fresh sustained breakout. The financial growth bridge does not prove the cause of this price response.
Conditional scenarios and invalidation
Bull: a completed daily close above $97.53 followed by a held retest would strengthen the immediate continuation case. Acceptance back inside Fridayās range would weaken that breakout premise. Base: rotation between $95.88 and $97.53 keeps the captured session-range test unresolved. Bear: a loss of $95.88 with a failed reclaim would weaken the bounce; a sustained return into the range challenges that failure interpretation. The $95.33 EMA is a changing farther reference. These are boundaries of one observed candle, not independently proved multiweek support or guaranteed targets.
Risk and the next evidence
Read the next segment disclosure and completed price bars on their own clocks. No valuation, holding, order or fill is asserted. A chart condition does not establish a business outcome, and an accounting adjustment does not remove economic risk. Gaps can skip static references. Educational research only; no personalized financial advice or promised outcome.
