he dollar gets no special treatment at my table. Every currency pair has to earn its allocation.
On this 4H chart, USDBRL is attempting to recover inside a small rising channel after the sharp October decline. Price has bounced from the broader ascending support line, but several marked bearish fair value gaps remain overhead.
Buyers have defended a location. Now they need to build a recovery.
The immediate test — preserve the rising structure
Holding the smaller channel and developing higher lows would support the rebound scenario. A break beneath its lower boundary would weaken the advance and put the October low back under examination.
A rising channel earns attention. Its ability to survive a retest earns conviction.
The overhead inventory — the red FVG zones
The marked imbalances above price are potential resistance areas. Buyers need to reclaim them progressively and defend the recovered territory.
Until that happens, this can still be a countertrend bounce within the latest downswing.
The foundation — the October low and broader rising support
The recent low sits near the longer ascending trendline. Another successful defense would support the recovery thesis. A sustained break beneath both would undermine it.
The market can renegotiate the price. My loss limit stays in the contract.
The larger references — 5.31042–5.31339
These displayed upper references belong to a broader recovery scenario. The nearer swing highs and overhead supply must be addressed before that area becomes a credible objective.
The deeper reference — 4.72103
This marked horizontal level sits well beneath the current structure. It becomes relevant to a deeper downside scenario if the nearer supports fail.
The momentum check
The displayed oscillator reading is around 43.65, below its 50 midpoint. Momentum has recovered from the recent trough, but bullish confirmation remains incomplete. A midpoint reclaim alongside stronger price structure would improve the case.
Here’s my classification:
ATM candidate: higher lows hold, overhead supply gets reclaimed, and the setup meets my execution rules.
Casino: I treat the first bounce as proof that the decline has ended.
Broken Slot Machine: the October floor fails and I keep depositing capital into the recovery story.
Every trade gets a budget. Every thesis gets an expiration condition.
