New title: Senior vice president, chief strategy officer, McDonald’s
Previous title: Executive vice president, head of corporate strategy and development, LIV Golf
Ugwechi Amadi joined McDonald’s this month, succeeding Emily Reasor, who moved into the role of managing director for the New Zealand market, McDonald’s CFO Ian Borden said in a LinkedIn post Monday. Reasor joined McDonald’s last year.
As chief strategy officer, Amadi “will help bring our strategy to life across the business, spotting new opportunities and keeping our priorities grounded in what matters most to our customers, communities, and the brand,” Borden wrote.
Amadi has experience in strategy, transformation and business leadership, Borden said. In her previous role at LIV Golf, she helped “align priorities, strengthen execution, and drive innovation across the business,” Borden said. Amadi also worked at Nike and The Boston Consulting Group, per her LinkedIn profile.
She will help shape the chain’s future under its NEXT strategy, which includes improvements to hospitality and food quality, as well as restaurant redesigns and tech innovations.
In a LinkedIn post, Amadi said she will build on the chain’s strong foundation while creating new opportunities for growth.
The chain has also brought on a handful of other top executives this year, including hiring Raising Cane’s vet Bryan Brown as chief development officer earlier this month. In April, McDonald’s hired Skye Anderson to the newly created position of McDonald’s USA chief operating officer and appointed a senior vice president of global franchise and delivery and a chief transformation and services officer. In February, it promoted Luis Quintiliano to U.S. national field president from his post as managing director of Spain.
McDonald’s didn’t immediately respond to Restaurant Dive’s request for comment.
